Justin Mays is a licensed architect and owner of HMA Architecture in Folsom, California. With over two decades of experience designing homes and communities across the state, he brings a disciplined, practical approach to residential architecture balancing strong design with real-world constructability.

Justin believes great architecture should be both beautiful and buildable. His work prioritizes clarity, coordination, and thoughtful decision-making, resulting in homes that function well, age gracefully, and can be built efficiently without unnecessary friction.

At HMA, Justin leads both design and day-to-day operations, running residential and multifamily projects with the efficiency and operational discipline of a larger corporate practice. Clients value Justin’s ability to move quickly, communicate clearly, and deliver well-coordinated documents that support smooth permitting and construction.

Outside of work, Justin spends as much time as possible outdoors with his family. He’s an avid mountain biker and enjoys boating and camping — activities that keep him connected to the landscapes and environments that often influence his architectural work.
